Girl’s Talk | Where’d Our Money Go?

Get me thinking where o where?

In our housing loan, first thing. That’s where the biggest chunk of our money goes.

Hubby invested in photography gadgets. He upgraded his camera then bought a light stand, flash, flash sensor and others.

When he received his pay from his former company, he bought Mac which is his buddy for his freelance designing work. And photo editing. The laptop he used to have is owned by the former company so he didn’t bring it when he left the company.

And then he bought me this iPad after he received a good job offer. Thanks honey. Muah muah!

Then my money from blogging was spent for my shopping needs and eat outs. Small personal things like my cosmetics, shoes, clothes. And I remember that I bought two pairs of shoes for my son.

You see, hubby’s money is my money and my money is mine only. Hehehe :)

Girls Talk | My Style Icon

If last week, we talked about our old fashioned style, this week it’s about our style icons.

My style icon is Katie Holmes. I like her ever since Dawson’s Creek where she’s a tomboy.

She could be glamorous and versatile when in a red carpet night. But still simple, elegant, but in the norm fashion. What I mean is that her sense of fashion is achievable for ordinary people like me, provided I have the ability to acquire even of similar style of clothes. Or there would be sponsors to provide my hunger for fashion. heeh :D

I like when she’s in her casual going out to play rehearsals style. I meant to imitate her style. But I think I better pose as her chambermaid.

The closest I could get to copying her style so far is her hair. I think we have the same hair type…naahhhkkks! But really, yah! Fine and a little wavy. Last year, I went to the salon carrying my lappie and showed the hairdresser a photo of her pixie mop hair cut in 2008. To which she received a lot of not so good remarks as to the boyish look. But with her sweet smile and good sense of fashion, her style even made it to the 2008 and 2009 Hair Trends of the Year.

Sorry I have to link to the sites instead of copy the photos. Just being careful about copyright thingies.

Girls Talk | Old School

Haven’t been able to join Girls Talk for a while. But the topic looks fun so I jumped in.
First time I saw this photo in Facebook, I said “Yuck!” LOL

This was our photo together with my classmates in Grade 6, year 1990. We had a retreat in Makiling, Laguna.
I don’t understand now how this could be the “in” that time for the ones who aren’t the girly type. But I remember I feel cool having this fashion. I’m the one sitting in the middle with the plain black loose shirt, puruntong shorts and high socks. At least I’m wearing Tretorn sneakers, hehehe :D

Girls Talk: My Birthday Trivia

First of, I want to greet Ms Kaye, the hostess of the Girls Talk Meme, a happy birthday. And because it’s her birthday she chose to go lighter with the topics to discuss this month. Well, you deserve to be reading all of our posts of lighter notes this time, the one with the beauty queen gene. tsk! ;D And because my birthday is past 2 months ago, I want to relax too! heehee :D

What do I have to share about May 23rd? I got nothing trivial except that I was born on a Wednesday when I asked my mom before. And I have relatives and acquaintances celebrating the same day with me. So I needed to use the birthday calculator to know more about my birth date myself.

Among all the astrology, numerology, moons and other facts about my birthday, I found some things interesting for me at least. I don’t think my birthday is a significance to other people except to others celebrating this day with me like Mitch Albom (1958), writer of Tuesdays With Morie and Jewel (Kilcher)(1974), of the songs Meant For You and I Do.

From Wikipedia.org, I found out that Sam Milby (1984) and Jillian Ward (2005) also celebrates the same day with me. haha :D

I had to smile when I read that during the year I was born, the songs that hit the charts, amongst what’s familiar til today, were My Sharona (Knacks), Reunited (Peaches & Herb), Ring My Bell (Anita Ward), Hot Stuff (Donna Summer), and I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor).

My birth flower is Lily and my birthstone is Emerald and Agate (in some accounts). I knew of these facts just now but incidentally, I used Lilies for my wedding flowers and Emerald as my wedding color theme. :D

So how about you? I bet there are fun facts about your birth day too.
